For the purposes of centralized accounting, keeping and use of topographical, geodetic and mapping documents there has been created State Cartographical and Geodetic Fund storing the respective materials for the whole territory of the Republic of Moldova. These materials are of technical, scientific, economic, historical, social and cultural interest.
Topographical, geodetic and mapping materials and data are distributed for use to public authorities and private sector on demand, observing the Fund Regulations.

August 20, 2010 Agency for Land Relations and Cadastre of Republic of Moldova (ALRC) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed the official documents on the implementation of the Moldovan-Japanese project for creation of the database for base map for development of the national spatial data infrastructure in the Republic of Moldova in accordance with agreement between the governments of Japoniei and the Republic of Moldova.The documents were signed by Dr.Vasile Grama, General Director ALRC and Mr.Akihito Sanjo, delegation Leader JICA.
